Greg Lanzi

Greg Lanzi has held the Bass Trombone position with the Flint Symphony for 23 years. He has also played with Ann Arbor Symphony for 22 years and holds a position with the Motor City Symphony Orchestra as well. For seven years, he has been a member of the First Brass, a brass ensemble in residence at the First Presbyterian Church of Flint.

For seventeen years, he has also served as a Music Educator with the Northville Public Schools. He teaches sixth and seventeenth grade band at Hillside Middle School in Northville.

Michelle Lanzi, Greg’s wife of 22 years, is the company manager of Wild Swan Theater in Ann Arbor.  The Wild Swan Theater has collaborated with many Flint Symphony musicians over the years in addition to performing at the Whiting on numerous occasions.

Greg and Michelle have two lovely daughters, Gabriella and Sophia. Gabriella is a sophomore at the University of Michigan this fall and Sophia will enter Brighton High School as a freshmen. Greg, originally from Atlanta, Ga. meet Michelle in Cape Cod during the summer of 1987 when she was assigned to write his bio for the College Light Opera Company’s season brochure.

Greg, an avid runner, has finished nine marathons including three trips to the Boston Marathon. His one regret is never running the Crim. Perhaps this is the year.
