Julia Ford Edwards

At the FSPA, she is conductor of the String Orchestra, coach of the FSPA Honors String Quartet, and has a large private cello studio. Julia Ford has been a member of the FSO cello section since 1981. She holds a BME from the University of Michigan-Flint, where she originally intended to earn a Biology degree, and a MM from Michigan State University. Julia taught Band and Orchestra in the Flint Community Schools, teaching every grade from 1-12, in many different buildings, retiring in 2013. When she isn’t freelancing or playing chamber music, you will find Julia in the pottery studio or the garden. She has two fabulous daughters, two terrific son-in-laws, and three adorable grandchildren.
