Principal flutist of the Flint Symphony Orchestra for over 20 years, Larson also plays flute and piccolo with the Michigan Opera Theater Orchestra and performs frequently with Chamber Music at the Scarab Club and Tuesday Musicale in the Detroit area. She has appeared as soloist with the Flint Symphony Orchestra, Toledo Symphony Orchestra, Miami Philharmonic, South Florida Chamber Orchestra and Coconut Grove Chamber Orchestra and was awarded prizes in the National Flute Association Young Artist Competition (1976 and 1977) and Financial Federal Musical Showcase Competition in Miami Beach (1975). She is on the adjunct applied faculty at Wayne State University and is a Suzuki Flute teacher trainer. Ms. Larson has commissioned and premiered a number of pieces by prominent composers, two of which can be heard on her recently released CD entitled Jinju, a compilation of music she has performed over the past 30 years, available for purchase on CD Baby, Amazon and
